Around 9:30 a.m., in the encounter with Cotopaxi Volcano (5.897 m - 19,347 ft), you will be surrounded by pristine forests, mountains, lakes, wild horses and ecosystems which change amazingly as you go get higher in this incredible reserve! You will also observe the exotic fauna as you take part of the numerous activities offered by this unforgettable adventure!

Laguna de Limpiopungo

This park also has an important collection of lakes and mountain peaks. One the most outstanding of these is Limpiopungo Lake, which reflects in its waters the majestic Rumiñahui volcano, which is 4.757 meters above sea level (15,606 ft). You'll have the opportunity to hike around the lake to get used to the high altitude of this wonderful region.

After finishing the hike, you'll drive downhill way towards a charming 300 years-old-hacienda to be delighted by its charming colonial architecture, history, and delicious gastronomy.

We had an amazing day with Myriam! She was sooo knowledgeable about the area, history, economy, biology and pretty much everything we had questions. She made the trip super amazing. When we got to the Hacienda everyone was so welcoming. The horses were very well trained and we had an incredible ride with Miguel. Then we hiked around Sendero with Myriam and she told us all about the birds and plants and their medicinal attributes. We learned so much and had a blast. She was also and amazing photographer. Can’t recommend the experience enough!

After finding the Cotopaxi tour online I emailed to ask if it was possible to add on a special request. Luis was quick in getting back to me with the answer and the necessary details. Quick and easy. Being picked up near my hotel the morning of the tour was great. Luis's English is great, not just with basic communication but he was easy to chat with and had a wonderful sense of humor which made the day and adventure, educational and just plain fun. He went the extra mile in every way. I can't say enough about what a fantastic experience the whole day was.
