Took our breath away
Christiane L, 21-02-2022
We went with Hugo to Cotopaxi on a very cloudy day but as we drove towards the National Park the clouds broke and we got a great view of Cotopaxi. Hugo took us through the Countryside which was great as one got to see a lot how people lived and the roads they deal with. We drove all the way up to the parking lot on Cotopaxi and proceeded to walk towards the Refuge, but WOW it was hard to breathe. We walked for about 10 min and had to admit defeat, we could not go further, it was an eye opening experience Hugo then drove to the Lake, unfortunately it started to thunder and rain so we could not walk around. We then went to the little Cotopaxi museum where we learned a bit more about the volcano. Just down a little path from there is a small home style restaurant where we enjoyed Ecuadorian fare for a very good price.
Although it was cloudy and rainy most of the day it was a great experience and Hugo was full of information about his country.
Fantastic views and great guide!

Went with Juan Cevallos to hike up the volcano and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Juan has great English and loves to talk about the different sites and life in general. Would recommend him everytime (especially for food recommendations which were fantastic since I'm still thinking of the fritadas we had for lunch!)
Two terrific days

Roberto was perfect. He took us to Cotapaxi for a day, with a stop at a terrific restaurant in a 300-year-old building, now a boutique hotel, where we had a lovely lunch, and the next day to Mindo, where we visited a hummingbird hangout and a lovely orchid garden. Highly recommended.
